For Whom The Lighthouse Shines is a story based voyeuristic horror with eldritchian elements, focusing on the cat and mouse relationships between a lighthouse's new keeper and its previous occupants. At its core, the player has one task: reignite the lamp at the top of the lighthouse. To do so, however, the player must explore and solve puzzles, discovering ulterior motives and dark secrets.

Controls

  • WASD Keys - Player Movement
  • E Key - Interact With Environment
  • Space Key - Progress / Skip Dialogue

Instructions

  • Explore the world, try to interact with the environment, and find the different endings.

Known issues

  • While against a boundary not moving, player continues to run animate in place while running in the direction of said boundary
  • Certain candle colours are hard to differentiate on some monitors
  • On the intermediate and top floors, dialogue sometimes plays during fade in/ fade out sequences
  • Player continues to run animate against the lockbox on the intermediate floor while inputting the code
  • Certain sound effects will play at different volume than intended - this is due to AudioSource volume being reset by the players footstep sound effect
  • Player animation sometimes lags behind player input due to FixedUpdate vs Update method differences
  • Lighthouse lamp may remain off despite having lit it if the player heads downstairs fast enough, and then heads back upstairs)
